Nobody Is Coming

2 min

There is a rescue you have been waiting for. You would not call it that – you would call it the right moment, or a calmer month, or January. But under the vocabulary it is the same belief: that at some point, something outside you will arrive and make this easy.

A mentor who finally sees you. A morning when you wake up and the heaviness is simply gone.

Be honest about how long you have been waiting. Not roughly – the number. The message you wrote and deleted. The course you saved and never opened. Waiting feels like preparation, which is why it is so easy to defend. But preparation has an output. Waiting has none.

The rescue fantasy survives because it removes the one weight you least want to carry: responsibility for the outcome. As long as the moment has not arrived, you are not failing – you are early. That is the lie's entire architecture. It lets you keep your self-image while it takes your years.

The world is not hostile. It is indifferent – it does not check on you.

Nobody is coming. No coach, no app, no better Monday. The people who love you are busy surviving their own lives.

reinforcements en route

Most men hear despair in that sentence. It is the opposite. If nobody is coming, then nobody else's schedule matters, no permission is pending, and nothing you need is being withheld. Command of the operation falls to you – and it turns out it was yours the whole time.

There is a test for whether you understood this essay or merely agreed with it. Agreement feels warm and changes nothing.

One order

Tonight, write down the one thing you have been postponing until someone or something arrives to make it easier. One sentence. Under it, write the name of who exactly is supposed to come. You will be looking at a blank line. Begin anyway – tomorrow, before noon.
